I have always been a pretty average athlete. I played sports growing up, ran cross-country in high school, and did some endurance running in college. In 2008, I found CrossFit and my life completely changed for the better. In 2009, I became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and never looked back. The CrossFit Gymnastics Seminar expanded my knowledge of balance, strength, and body control. The CrossFit Movement and Mobility Seminar taught me the basics of body maintenance and injury prevention. The CrossFit Coach’s Prep Course gave me to tools to improve my efficacy as a trainer.
Since 2009, I have taught CrossFit classes and worked with athletes to meet specific goals. In 2012, I left my career as a mechanical engineer to pursue training full time. Around this time, I also developed a passion for Olympic Weightlifting. The grace and power of the sport is a perfect fit for my mechanically inclined way of thinking. I became a USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach and soon became a Club Coach.
These days, I teach CrossFit Classes and oversee the 314 Barbell Club. I get to work with amazing athletes from endlessly different backgrounds and skill levels. Their ambitions range from just wanting to play with their grandkids to qualifying for the CrossFit Games. I can think of nothing better I could do with my life. I am absolutely living my dream.
