We have a lot of events coming up! Next Monday is Murph with our friends from CrossFit Kirkwood, starring Ozark Smoke BBQ.
The following Saturday, June 4, Laura will be competing at the Missouri State Powerlifting Open at the Lab Gym. AND we will have several teams at the Dynamic Duo at CrossFit Uncharted in St. Charles.
If you don’t make it to either of those events, there is also a really awesome fundraiser on June 4th. A few weeks ago, Adam Erickson introduced me to two guys who work at The Fitness Partner – a gym out in Chesterfield. For the last three years, they have organized a fundraiser to benefit the Joshua Chamberlain Society.
The more we talked, the more I realized what an amazing charity JCS is. Their goal is “providing long term support to local veterans that sustained permanent combat injuries fighting the long war on terror for our nation. It also provides long term support to the children of veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in our service.” Rather than helping many people a little bit at a time (which is also an awesome goal), JCS adopts a veteran and/or their family for LIFE. JCS helps on a continual basis to ensure the recipients get all the help the need.
They are a local charity, and they have done a ton of good. Check out their website for more info.
On June 4, The Fitness Partner is holding a Fitness Challenge with all of the proceeds going to the Joshua Chamberlain Society. Their goal is to raise $30,000, and I would love for CrossFit 314 to help them meet their goal. If you are available to participate, sign up by clicking here. If you can’t participate, give a few bucks to one of our members who can!!
