The 2016 CrossFit Games Open begins TONIGHT!!!
For those who are STILL not up to speed: The Open is a 5-week series of workouts done by CrossFitters the world over. Workouts are announced on Thursdays at 7pm Central Time online at games.crossfit.com. (Or you can just check your Facebook news feed, as I’m sure all your CrossFit friends will be blowing up your wall with laments and huzzahs about what movements come out of The Dave Castro hopper.
At CrossFit 314, we will program the workouts as the actual Workout of the Day on the Friday immediately following the announcement. Whether you are signed up for the actual competition or not, (and it would be the best $20 that you’d spend all year…), that will be your workout for the day. Classes will have a slightly looser format during the day to accommodate athletes participating in the Open, as every competitor must have a judge for each of the 5 workouts.
While you’re welcome to come in any time to perform the workout between the announcement at 7pm on Thursday and the deadline to submit your score at 5pm on Monday, Friday night will be THE time to do the workout with 30-40 of your closest confreres. We’ll run the event very Open-Gym-like, and we’ll surely hang around to have some beers afterward.
If you’ve got any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. And if you’re not one of the 46 athletes ALREADY signed up for the Open at CrossFit 314, and you want to be one of the cool kids, you can still SIGN UP HERE.

Happy Open, Folks!!
