We encourage an aggressive and excessive opening of the hips for the Snatch. A violent Hip Extension where the shoulders end up behind the bar not only transfers maximal force to the bar, but it also helps to pull the bar over the heel of the lifter for the catch instead of leaving it out in front where Snatches are commonly missed.
