I can’t tell you how many times a week I’ll be watching Laura lift or exercise quickly (on rare occasions), and I end up thinking to myself, “Oh snap. She’s like, 20 weeks pregnant. I kind of forgot.”

One of my favorite parts about not only this gym but the entire CrossFit Community at large is that things that are radical elsewhere are just the norm in here. Girls have pullups? Well yeah. Everybody knows how to climb a 20-foot rope? Duh. Women squatting and downing protein shakes while they’re pregnant instead of sitting around watching Sex and the City and eating tubs of ice cream? Don’t be silly; of course.

I sleep well at night knowing that I am part of such a positive community.
