David and Goliath

“David and Goliath”

Neil takes all the photos at CrossFit 314, and they are all great. But I particularly enjoyed this one.

Maybe it’s because just like I know the story of David and Goliath, I also know that Cori winds up at the top of the rings of that monstrous-looking rig.  Or maybe it’s because of the angle of the photo – it makes me a little dizzy, actually. I like that it’s a little more grainy than lots of his other photos, making the gym feel more rugged, more primal.

We have an awesome Community at CrossFit 314. And I love having packed classes and seeing 60 people in and out of our doors on any given day. But I love this photo because it kind of freeze frames the notion that no matter how many people are in the gym at any given time, it comes down to the work that you are willing to put in day after day after day. You and no one else.
