Recently, I’ve had some of our new members look at me like I’ve got two heads when I tell them they should spend the first 15min of class developing their strict pullup, kipping pullup, pushup, dip, muscle up, etc… It’s because people have come to accept the fact that muscle ups are just out of the wheelhouse for the average athlete or Girls can’t do Pullups.

Poppycock.

I met Liz Marques in the Fall of 2010. A few things that she could not do then that she can do now:

  • Strict Pullup
  • Kipping Pullup
  • Pistols
  • 28:50 5k
  • Double Unders
  • Handstand Pushup
  • Pushup
  • Rope Climbs
  • Dip
  • 1-Mile for Time in 8:30
  • Deadlift 240lbs (2x Body Weight)
  • Muscle Up…SOON!

I’m sure I’m missing a few things. The point is, if you’re a beginner, just know that we all started from square one. Just keep moving forward. You’ll be shocked where you will be in one, two or five years.

I’m sure it goes without saying that you make my short list of favorite athletes, Liz. Keep up the strong work.
