I ran a marathon this morning. Before I get a flood of questions, I’ll go over some FAQ’s below.

How’d you do?

It’s all relative, really. But I ran a new PW. (Personal Worst.) I was gunning for a 3:05, and I not-so-narrowly missed my goal by 59 minutes.

Oh wow. Was it hard?

Running a marathon is always hard. It’s harder the more you are able to empty your tank after precisely 26.2 miles. I emptied my tank at mile 18 or so. (Woopsies.) Miles 20-26 took me 90 minutes. Those were some HARD miles. (For reference, my first 13.1 miles took me 92 minutes.)

Do you think you would have run faster had you started slower?

Yep. But who’s to say, really? I wouldn’t have had it any other way, today.

Will you run another one?

Undoubtedly. Either in the Spring or Summer. And I’ll probably start out at whatever pace I am trained to run.

In case you missed it, here’s our most recent Podcast, during which I plan to start at 3:10 pace and predict a 3:08 finish. Not sure it would have played out that way, but I don’t think it would have been the catastrophic blow out that it was today. Oh well.
